John Gurda's Visit

On Sunday, February 12, 2012, St. Robert Parish hosted Milwaukee historian John Gurda who presented "The East Side Story," a fast-paced look at the St. Robert part of town.  “From the pioneer mansions of Yankee Hill to the leafy streets of today’s North Shore suburbs, the area east of the Milwaukee River has always played a distinctive role in our region.”  This event was free and open to the public.

John Gurda is a Milwaukee-born historian and writer. He has authored numerous books about Milwaukee and its neighborhoods, including The Making of Milwaukee. Gurda is a noted author, lecturer, tour guide, and a columnist for theMilwaukee Journal Sentinel.  This event was part of our ongoing St. Robert Parish Centennial Celebration. Our thanks to the over 450 people who joined us!
