“St. Robert School is….dedicated to the formation of saints and leaders”
“We teach the truth and beauty of the Catholic faith…”
“We are….a faithful….community”
Our mission informs every aspect of our practice. At its core, it is a mission of sanctification and evangelization. Prayer, service, doctrinal truths, and Catholic morality are infused not only into our curricular instruction, but into the daily rhythm of our school life, including our relationships with each other and the wider world.
Each day begins with a traditional, school-wide prayer, often tied to the liturgical season. Daily prayer continues in each homeroom or religion class with the reading and psalm response of the day and personal prayers of petition. Throughout each week, we raise up community needs as well as our gratitude. St. Robert students also participate in traditional Catholic devotional practices including monthly Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction, rosary, Stations of the Cross, Morning Prayer, and May Crowning.
We celebrate liturgy as a school community each week, teaching our children to love the Holy Mass by taking turns proclaiming the Word, leading the Prayers of the Faithful, cantoring, and even participating in a child-centered Homily.
We are dismissed from each Mass with the instruction to “Go forth to love and serve the world.” St. Robert students live this command by participating in regular, structured outreach and service experiences from kindergarten forward. Students give the work of their hands and the money from their piggy banks to care for needs in our own community as well as fundamental needs of the wider community. By middle school, students participate in quarterly off-site service projects involving a wider spectrum of needs, and often lead the community in raising up their own concerns and projects to address them.
Another way we teach our students to live their faith in the wider world is through an often counter-cultural expression of morality – to be in the world without being of the world. Our Code of Conduct, Bully Prevention Program, integrated bioethics instruction, cradle-to-grave Respect for Life efforts, Catechism-based human growth and sexuality instruction, and healthy media usage policy are core examples of the living morality of the St. Robert School experience.
In every facet of school life, St. Robert School connects faith and culture, creating the foundation for a lived Catholic identity that impacts life beyond the schoolhouse walls.
